Bridgehampton is not a place that needs much introduction.

In summer, life moves between Main Street and the beach, farm stands and dinner tables, houses full of guests and invitations made at the last minute. The atmosphere is polished, but rarely formal. Things are chosen with care, then used without too much ceremony.

That balance is part of what makes Bridgehampton feel distinct. Its Main Street still sits between the commercial life of the village and the farming and equestrian landscape around it. It is a place where an ordinary errand can easily become part of the day: bread for dinner, flowers for the house, something to bring to a host.

It is also what makes L'Épicuriste feel so naturally at home there.

Inside L'Épicuriste

L'Épicuriste is difficult to describe as only one kind of store. There are pantry discoveries and ingredients sourced from near and far, alongside objects for the home and table, gifts, flowers, local work, and pieces for the powder room. Everything belongs to a broader idea of everyday living in the Hamptons.

You might walk in looking for something to serve and leave with something for the table. Or arrive in need of a hostess gift and find an object that ends up staying in your own house. That sense of discovery is part of the pleasure.

L'Épicuriste does not separate food from the table around it, or gifting from the life of the home. It understands that entertaining is often made up of small decisions: what to offer, what to place beside it, and what to bring when someone else opens their door.

Why We Are Going to Bridgehampton

That way of thinking feels close to MI RE LA.

Our linens are also made for the life around the table rather than for display alone. Napkins are unfolded. Bread baskets are filled. Placemats are wiped and used again. Guest towels move into the powder room before friends arrive.

The embroidery gives each piece its character, but the object still has a job to do.

From July 30 through August 4, MI RE LA will present a special selection developed for L'Épicuriste and its Bridgehampton setting. Some embroideries and color combinations have been created specifically for the occasion, with details intended to feel at home among summer tables, guest rooms, host gifts, and the quieter rituals of the house.

The full selection will be revealed in Bridgehampton. What matters is that the pieces will be seen where they make sense: among objects chosen for the home, the pantry, the table, and the simple pleasure of welcoming people well.

To See the Pieces in Person

There is always something that a photograph cannot explain about linen. Its weight. The movement of a napkin. The structure of a coated-linen basket. The way embroidery sits against the natural weave rather than on a flat screen.

For six days in Bridgehampton, visitors will be able to see those details closely and discover the selection in person. Perhaps while choosing something for dinner. Perhaps while looking for a gift. Or perhaps simply because they happened to walk through the door.
