Description
The Stambecco is the alpine ibex, the wild goat that holds its footing on the high rock faces around Cortina. We embroidered it standing still, head raised under a pair of curved horns, in layers of taupe and warm brown.
The ground is Oatmeal Stone, a soft melange that leaves room for the darker threads to stand out. Pre-washing gives the linen a gentle crinkle and a soft drape from the first time you use it. Folded beside a plate, the napkin sits loosely; opened, it falls easily over a knee.
Each napkin is cut, sewn and embroidered in Italy and finished with a tone-on-tone hem, so the eye goes straight to the ibex. They suit an ordinary weeknight as well as a long dinner by the fire after a day in the mountains.
