Description

On Oatmeal Stone the coral settles into the cloth and turns warm, which is why it works from June through October. Use it as a placemat or as a charger under the dinner plate. Once lunch is over it can stay on the table, so the coral is still there when the plates are gone.

The motif and the thread share a name, and coral is the piece in Collezione Toscana that belongs to both halves of an Italian table. It comes out of the water, and it has been on Mediterranean tables for as long as there have been Mediterranean tables. Which makes it the easiest thing to set down when you have not yet decided what kind of lunch this is going to be.

Each placemat is built on a structured core with a removable embroidered linen cover. The elastic edge holds the cover flat and lets you lift it off to wash on its own.

  • Material: 100% premium linen cover with a protective resin coating, for easy everyday cleaning.
  • Core: 3 mm high-density PVC foam. The cover fits over it with an elastic edge and lifts off for separate washing.

  • Origin: Designed, cut, sewn and embroidered in Italy.
  • Handmade Note: Each piece is individually handcrafted, so slight variations in embroidery placement, stitching or tone may occur. These differences are part of its handmade character.
  • Use: Placemat or charger. Long lunches from June through October, gifts and bridal registries.
Care

Everyday care: Wipe with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Clean spills promptly, since marks left to sit can set into the coating.

Before washing: Always slide the linen cover off the rigid core first. Only the cover goes in the machine; the core never goes in water.

Washing: Occasional, not routine: gentle cycle at 30°C / 86°F, never above 40°C / 104°F, with a mild detergent.

Avoid: fabric softener, chlorine bleach, spin cycles and the dryer.

Drying: Hang the cover to dry in the shade, then slip it back over the core.

Ironing: Medium heat, always through a clean cloth, from the reverse side where possible.

Dry cleaning: Allowed.

Please note: Long exposure to direct sun, rain or damp air can fade the color and wear the fabric.
