Toscana Coral Placemats in Off-White – Set of 2

Round and structured, this set carries the coral of Collezione Toscana across an off-white ground. The motif and the thread share a name, which is most of the pleasure of it: a coral branch, embroidered in coral, reading clearly from across the room without raising its voice. Use it as a placemat or as a charger under the dinner plate, and leave it on the table between meals, where a coral branch at each place is decoration enough.

It is also the piece in the collection that belongs to both halves of an Italian table. Coral comes out of the water, and it has been on Mediterranean tables for as long as there have been Mediterranean tables. Which makes it the easiest thing to set down when you have not yet decided what kind of lunch this is going to be.

Each placemat is built on a structured core with a removable embroidered linen cover. The elastic edge holds the cover flat and lets you lift it off to wash on its own, which is what keeps an off-white ground usable on a table where people actually eat.
