Description

Honey bees embroidered in brown on Oatmeal Stone, carried across four placemats, four napkins and a bread basket for a table of four.

Brown on oatmeal is the quietest pairing in the collection: from across the room it reads as texture, and only up close does it turn into bees. The placemats are rigid, so they work as placemats or as chargers, and between meals they can stay on the table. The napkins are pre-washed linen with a soft, lived-in feel. The basket holds fresh bread next to a pot of honey, and away from the table a small basil plant by the kitchen window.

The bee belongs to hives, kitchen gardens and the fields in between. This is the set for a table with no view of the sea.

Care

Placemats

Everyday care: Wipe with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Clean spills promptly, since marks left to sit can set into the coating.

Before washing: Always slide the linen cover off the rigid core first. Only the cover goes in the machine; the core never goes in water.

Washing: Occasional, not routine: gentle cycle at 30°C / 86°F, never above 40°C / 104°F, with a mild detergent.

Avoid: fabric softener, chlorine bleach, spin cycles and the dryer.

Drying: Hang the cover to dry in the shade, then slip it back over the core.

Ironing: Medium heat, always through a clean cloth, from the reverse side where possible.

Dry cleaning: Allowed.

Please note: Long exposure to direct sun, rain or damp air can fade the color and wear the fabric.

Basket

Everyday care: Wipe with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Clean spills promptly, since marks left to sit can set into the coating.

Washing: Only when it really needs it: gentle cycle at 30°C / 86°F, never above 40°C / 104°F, with a mild detergent.

Avoid: fabric softener, chlorine bleach, spin cycles and the dryer.

Drying: Hang to dry in the shade.

Ironing: Medium heat, always through a clean cloth, from the reverse side where possible.

Dry cleaning: Allowed.

Please note: Long exposure to direct sun, rain or damp air can fade the color and wear the fabric.

Napkins

Pre-washed linen: These napkins are washed before they are cut and sewn, so they arrive soft, with a natural crinkle, ready to use.

Washing: Gentle cycle at 30°C / 86°F with a mild liquid detergent, together with similar colors. No bleach. Dry cleaning is also fine.

Drying: Dry flat in the shade when you can. If you use the dryer, choose a low, delicate setting and take the napkins out while still slightly damp to avoid deep creases.

Ironing: Not needed; the relaxed look is part of the linen. For a smoother finish, iron on the reverse at medium heat to protect the embroidery.
